We live in a world where diseases and pain seem to be unstoppable. New types of cancer are discovered every year and the war against it is far from being over.
Osbein Valenzuela Carrillo, one of the waiters at La Tasca Reading, decided to get involved. And this is not by chance.
Ozzy (how we call him), will leave England soon. FOR GOOD!
He has been living in Reading, Berkshire for the last several years. He met wonderful people here, he made life-time friends and he has great memories.
But he thought he cannot just leave... he has to give something back… as a “Thank you!”.
That is why he decided to do a charity parachute jump, to support NHS Duchess of Kent House (hospice) in Reading.
Osbein Valenzuela Carrillo (Ozzy)
The unit treats adult patients with cancer and other life-shortening diseases, at no charge according to need. The hospice provides out-patient, in-patient and day therapy services, which includes respite care and symptom control.
The jump will take place on 30th September 2012 in Swindon.
If you would like to encourage Ozzy, please use the comment box below.
If you want to support the jump (he has to pay £370.00 to be allowed to do the jump – all the money goes to charity), we prepared a special box at La Tasca Reading for him.
You can also send donations into his personal bank account:
